YOU'RE NOT ALONE

Pink the Basin believes every woman should be able to have access to a potentially life-saving mammogram, regardless of her income. We have made it our mission to reach out to area health care providers, financially supplementing their ability to provide mammograms and prosthetics for women who have either inadequate insurance or none at all.

Are you struggling? Know that you are not alone. Reaching out and connecting to women who are going through similar circumstances can make all the difference in your breast cancer journey. Join a support group where it is safe to laugh, to cry, and to share your breast cancer journey without fear of judgment.

KNOW YOUR RISK

Screening Recommendations: Screening is looking for signs of disease, such as breast cancer, before a person has symptoms.  The goal of screening tests is to find cancer at an early stage when it can be treated and may be cured.  Sometimes a screening test finds cancer that is very small or very slow growing.

  • All women should have a risk assessment by age 30, especially minority women to ensure that they are not in a higher risk category.
  • Annual mammogram screening starting at age 40.
  • Screening should continue past age 70.
  • Should be considered along with the possibility of recall of additional imaging.
  • Should be considered along with the possibility of benign biopsy.
  • Should be considered along with the possibility of risks of anxiety and overdiagnosis.
